सरकारले धमलालाइ चोख्यायो
पक्राउ परेकामध्ये रामशुभक रणविर सेनाको उपत्यका इन्जार्च, मनोज उपत्यका सैन्य इन्चार्ज, केएम र धमला सहयोगि रहेको सरकारको दावा थियो । सरकारले प्रहरीले तयार पारेको तथ्यको आधारमा उपत्यकामा हुने गरेको विष्फोटको घटनाकाक्रममा धमलाले उनीहरुलाई संरक्षण दिएको समेत दावी गरेको थियो ।
रणविर सेनामा आवद्ध रहेको अभियोग सहित हातहतियार तथा खरखजाना मुद्धा खेपिरहेका रिर्पोर्टस क्लवका अध्यक्ष रहेका ऋषि धमलालाइ माधव नेपालको सरकारले चोख्याएको छ । संयुक्त राष्ट्रसंघको महासभामा भाग लिन जानु अगाडि बसेको मन्त्रीपरिषद्को बैठकले धमलाको मुद्धा फिर्ता लिने निर्णय गरेको हो । सरकारले धमलासंगै राम शुभक महतो र विरेन्द्र केएमको नाममा रहेको मुद्धा समेत फिर्ता लिने निर्णय गरेको छ । सरकारले तीनै जना पत्रकार रहेको ट्याग लगाएर मुद्धा फिर्ताको निर्णय गरेको छ । पत्रकारको ट्याग नलागेका मनोज महतोको मुद्धा भने फिर्ता भएन ।
माओवादी नेतृत्वको सरकार ढले लगत्तै एमालेको नेतृत्वमा सरकार बनेपछि धमला आफ्नो मुद्धा फिर्ता गराउन निक्कै सक्रिय भएर लागेका थिए । उनलाई कांग्रेसवाट सरकारको नेतृत्व गरेकी परराष्ट्रमन्त्री सुजाता कोइराला सहित गृहमन्त्री भिम रावलले समेत राम्रै साथ दिएका थिए । मन्त्री विषेशको निर्णयको आधारमा उनको मुद्धा फिर्ता हुने हो भने उहिल्यै फिर्ता हुन्थ्यो । तर,उनी विरुद्ध सरकारवादी मुद्धा लागेकाले मुद्धा फिर्ता गर्ने निर्णय मन्त्रीपरिषद्वाटै गराउनुपर्ने भएकाले समय लागेको मात्र हो । हातहतियार तथा खरखजाना मुद्धा लागेको आधारमा संयुक्त राष्ट्र संघको न्युयोर्कमा हुन लागेको महासभामा जान धमलालाई भिसा नदिएपनि सुजाता उनको नाममा रहेको मुद्धा फिर्ता गराउन सक्रिय भएको चर्चा चुलिएको थियो । तर, अन्त्यमा सुजातालाई उछिन्दै गृहमन्त्री भिम रावल अगाडि बढेर धमला सहितको मुद्धा फिर्ता गराएको श्रेय लिए ।
२१ माघ २०६५मा महानगरिय प्रहरी परिसरले उनलाई पुतलीसडकमा रहेको रिर्पोटर्स क्लववाट पक्राउ गरी हिरासतमा राखेको थियो । धमला अगाडि पक्राउ परेका रामशुभक र विरेन्द्रको जानकारीको आधारमा नै प्रहरीले धमलालाइ पक्राउ गरेको दावी गर्दै एक व्यापारीसंग रणविर सेनाको नाममा रकम असुल्न धमलाले रामशुभक र विरेन्द्र र रणविर सेनाका प्रमुख रणविर सिंहसंग गरेको कुराकानीको विवरण सार्वजनिक गरेको थियो । प्रहरीले १९ माघमा नै रामशुभक, विरेन्द्र र मनोजलाई पक्राउ गरेको थियो । पक्राउको क्रममा योजनामा धमला समेत सक्रिय रहेको तथ्य फेलापरेपछि २१ माघ बेलुका सांढे ६ वजे पुतलीसडकको कार्यालयमा सादा पोशाकका १५ प्रहरीले धमलालाई झ्यानाकुटी बनाउंदै हनुमानढोका लगेका थिए ।

हावा नचली पात हल्लीदैन । यदी धमला सहितका पत्रकारको ट्याग बोकेका तीन जना निर्दोश रहेको भए पक्कै प्रहरी उनीहरुको पछि लाग्नुको कुनै कारण देखिन्न । त्यसमा पनि राम्रै राजनीतिक पहूंच भएका धमलाविरुद्ध यस्तो गम्भिर अभियोगमा कार्वाही गर्ने हिम्मत प्रहरीले त्यसै के ग¥थ्यो र । त्यसैले यो घटना उनीहरु विरुद्ध कसैले नियोजित रुपमा गरेको शड्यन्त्रको रुपमा लिनु निर्रथक हो ।
यो मुद्धालाई अदालतवाटै छिनोफानो गर्न दिएको भए उत्तम हुने थियो । सरकारले यस्तो गम्भिर अभियोगमा हात हालेर अर्को गम्भिर गल्ती ग¥यो । निर्दोष भएको दावी गर्नेहरु मुद्धा फिर्ताका लागि राजनीतिक पावरको प्रयोग गराएकाले उनीहरु मुद्धा फिर्ता नभए अदालतवाट अपराध पुष्टी हुन्छ भन्ने त्रासमा रहेको समेत पुष्टी भयो । यो निर्णयले गम्भिर अपराधमा मुछिएकाहरुलाई त फाइदा पुग्यो नै तर, व्यवसायिक पत्रकारीतामा विश्वास गर्ने संचारकर्मीका लागि भने यसले दुरगामी असर पा¥यो नै । यसले पहुच छ भने संचारकर्मीले जस्तो अपराध गरेपछि उन्मुक्ति मिल्छ भन्ने नकारात्मक शन्देस दियो सरकारको यो कु निर्णयले ।

१) Midwest र Weast Coast बाट करीब १९७ जना नेपालीसाथीहरु (बिद्यार्थी लगायेत अन्य) बिहान UN Building अगाडी आइपुग्ने निश्चित भईसकेको जानकारी गराइयेको छ ! न्यू योंर्कबाट ३५३ जना साथिहरु (बिद्यार्थी लगायेत अन्य) सहभागी हुने जानकारी गराई सकेका छन !

I like your comments. There are hundreds of Nepalese organisation in USA and above 30 in NYC alone. Each of them are affiliated with some political party or other forums. If all decides to go to UN building or Colombia University with “kalo Janda” when their opposition leader are in summit, from now on, each and every one of Prime Minister and leaders have to face black flag.
NYC will be a fun place to watch “Nepali Gai Jatra”.
Though I am personally not in favor of Madav K Nepal becoming PM of Nepal and Dhamala coming in NYC as delegate, the problem of our home should be solved within home rather than demonstrating outside UN building or Colombia University.

You spoke the truth but your truth is selective. Many times a “selective truth” is bigger than a lie. Can your memory remember Prachanda/Baburam spend over 70% of underground period in India? Were Indian establishments’ and investigative agencies in such worst shape that they were not able to find where Maoists’ top leaders were and to find Maoist arms dealing within India ? The truth is Maoists are the first ones who always welcomed foreigners each time they saw short term interest on their side. Who initiate 12 points agreement outside Nepal and who asked for UN help ?
I would have agree with your naming of “butchers” to Girija, MKN, Deuba, Gyanendra if you had named Prachanda and his company “triple ruthless butchers”.

Regarding your question “Are Maoist bands of Saints”, I think Prachanda is second coming of Lord Budhha. He is peace loving, hate nepotism, his YCL bands are formed to spread peace and love, he almost translate Nepali into another Switzerland.

You can not “intentionally” ignore the SEQUENCE of events…… number two always follows the number one. Example:- One: peaceful DEMAND, Two: disrespectful IGNORANCE and Three: non-peaceful CONSEQUENCE.
Think carefully: not me but you are being a “selector”. Did Deuba goverment show any interest to positively discuss the 40 points demand of the then Maoists ???
Look at the present picture: Madhav Nepal goverment is repeating the same failed strategy of Deuba by not allowing the ceromonial President’s an executive move to be peacefully discussed in the CA.
If peaceful option is blocked, not positively taken, and not affirmatively discussed, it is the law of nature that next consequence will always be of a non-peaceful one.

I’m unbiased seeing the truth and not selective but I admit that I am for liberty, freedom, democracy etc.
Deuba was a bad PM. It’s unethical for MKN to be PM and it was a politically incorrect choice of Girija to make MNK PM.
We Nepalese are not the lucky ones to choose between good and bad but we only have choice between bad and worst. In that sense old parties were bad and Maoist are worst.
Nepalese people gave Maoists magnate to run government for 2 years and to give a new constitution – ( but they don’t gave Maoist to do anything they want ). It was Prachanda who wanted to go his own way ignoring his allies and when he sacked the army chief he was already in minority. Besides, instead of sacking army chief through normal procedure Prachanda gave terminating letter directly which was unconstitutional (which actually should have gone through President). Whether President act was right or wrong, the case is in the court.
When Maoist came with 40 pts demand in 1996 Deuba had neither resources nor in that frame of political platform to meet some of those demands.
By the way let go to first three of those 40 pts demands – What Maoist had done to those demands.
1) Regarding the 1950 Treaty between India and Nepal, all unequal stipulations and agreements should be removed.
2) HMG should admit that the anti-nationalist Tanakpur agreement was wrong, and the Mahakali Treaty, incorporating same, should be nullified.
3) The entire Nepal-Indian border should be controlled and systematized. Cars with Indian number plates, which are plying the roads of Nepal, should not be allowed.
Did Prachanda spoke anything about these demands while he was visiting India? No not a single word. Maoist nationalism or called it pseudo nationlism is just lip-service to stir emotions of people.
However,it would have been better if other parties have asked Maosits to form government under them with anyone as PM (Baburam, Badal. Etc) except Prachanda for the stipulated time of two years. After that if Maist could not be able to write new constitution under their leadership then old parties have thought some other plan.

Army should have been used to crush the Maoist ultra activity during the begining of their so called peoples war. I still wish they could be crushed like LTTE. They deserved it.

Mathmatically, emperically and deductively, it is the wrong to say that the Maoists are worse and the parliyamentary parties are bad only. Your imagination of the better and best can only happen in the vacuum OR you are trying to refer that Gyanendra is still the solution. I think you do not believe in democracy, but in the ”aristocracy”. Otherwise, a single party who secured 40% votes of the people can not be worst than the two who secured less than the combined 40% votes. Who is your reference to gauge who is popular or not? My reference of popularity is not based in the ”vacuum” and but the people of the country. When Nepali congress ruled the contry two times after 2046 BS, they secured “less” percentage of people votes than rest of the parties. Eeven though they had less percentage of votes, in the essence of democracy, they ruled the country based on the fact that NC was the largest party then.
As for the Katuwal saga, it is the “socalled allies” who first approved for the clarification and punishment for Katuwal; then, latter they backed off thier endorsement becuase they were threated by India with the consequences of the vertical split of those parties. Every Nepali “who live in Nepal” have known the fact ”why the MJF was splited”. What was India’s interest not to sack Katuwal ? Becuase India does not want civilian control over nepal army in the situation that the Maoists party is the key domestic player in Nepal as they did not expect that the Maoists party would stand as the largest party. People are looking for consesus for change, not for swiming in the status-quo.
Just like the mockery of democracy practiced in Nepal, it is mockery of an unbiased view to say that Prachand did not utter a single word vis a vis 1950 treaty and so on. A people elected prime-minister who were even importuned by the all status-quoists for the appointment of a nepali priest in a Nepali temple or who were barred by all national or international opposing forces to enjoy his executive authority to command a mere commander of chief of nepal army, how can you expect to deal such magnum issues like treaty and so on in the transitional politics?
I do not think your peception is unbiased or asymmetric. You like to see nepali rulers who are aristocrats than democrats.

You sound hypocrite when you say that congress does not deserve to rule as they won less than 50% of total votes while claming that Maoist who also secured less than 40% of votes deserved to rule. From your theory both parties does not deserve to rule.

The fact is that Nepali Congress stood as biggest party in the past with the highest ratio of its electated representatives; consequently, they deserved to rule the country.
Based on the representation of the CA members of the Maoists party, SD Muni is absulately correct about the 40% of maoists votes. The word- “votes” does not tantamount to the “raw” vote counts in the democratic polity. When an expert gives an interview in a national daily, he says what he means. How could S D Muni receive a PHD and become a professor of a wellknown university in India if he did not know what he is talking about.
It is common sense man.
